Heritage Harvest Festival at Monticello, Charlottesville

One of the premier festivals in the area is the Heritage Harvest Festival at Monticello.  This is a fabulous festival that cherishes the harvest and celebrates the revolutionary gardener Thomas Jefferson.  The festival is Friday and Saturday, September 14 & 15, 2012.   We know this may sound premature but you need to book your tickets for the festival now instead of in August.  That's why we wanted to give you early notice of this festival.   We already have one couple who have booked their room here at Foxfield Inn so that they will not miss out.

The festival is not until September but BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW!  They do sell out and you won't want to be left out if you are at all interested in attending.

We've had guests stay here at Foxfield Inn and go to the festival for several years now.  We cannot believe how much they it.  This year I am going to try to make a couple of the workshops.  We accommodate those who have an 9:00am workshop to attend with an early breakfast so that you can make it time for your sessions.  The workshops are fantastic - everything from heirloom garlic & onions (one I'm interested in) to Jefferson's role as a revolutionary gardener to solar drying vegetables.  There are 31 workshops to select from on Friday and another 31 on Saturday.   There will also be chef demonstrations that are yet to be announced.

Joel Salatin, founder of Polyface Farm and the model for sustainable agriculture, will be the speaker at the Grand Dinner & Evening on Friday night.  This should be a great evening out.  The farmer (Zach Miller, Timbercreek Organics) we purchase our eggs and pork spent time with Joel learning how run and manage a sustainable farm.  We hope you can attend.

See you soon!
